The Art of Dean Hacker |

I wish to present images which force the audience to use their belief system, Ideally challenging a part of it but in a way which is not overtly shocking, evangelical or cloying and maybe blow a little carbon out of my own belief system as well. I am not a true outsider, but most of whom claim to be are not. I tend to be conceptual and therefore feel that too many artists are just children playing with clay... There are things that are radically wrong within our society. It is the duty of the artist and poet to shine a spotlight upon them... Joeseph Cornells innocence, BoschÕs alchemy, DaliÕs balls, the noise a bird makes when it hits a window, the things women do to men and men do to women. just ask Man Ray or Duchamp, Belmers doll or Balthus. snakehandlers & strychnine drinkers, the socially emotionally and spiritually retarded as well as those that are scared of the dark for a reason... all part of the collective i draw strength from, the power and the glory, forever and ever, amen. I believe Thomas Kinkade is the anti-Christ and God rest your soul Bob but there are no Òhappy little treesÓ the larger ones keep you from the light and their roots choke you from the soil. Remember the ability to create art is a gift & not a right. dean hacker.
