The Art of Andrew Bawidamann
Born in 1976 and raised just three miles outside of the Wright Patterson Airbase in Dayton, Ohio, Andrew Bawidamann grew up gawking at vintage war birds with their seductive nose art.  Educated in a strict Catholic school system where nuns would crack his knuckles with their wooden rulers as he drew in class, it was apparent that Bawidamann was focused on art from the very beginning. Between the influence of the nearby airbase and listening to his grandfatherıs war stories, he developed a passion for history and nostalgia.  The discovery of his fatherıs nudie magazine collection was the final and most pertinent element to influence Bawidamannıs interest in pinup art.

After attending the Columbus College of Art and Design learning how to hone his skills as a traditional artist, Bawidamann took a job upon graduating as a graphic designer in order to afford to eat. After five years of working for The Limited, Express, Bath and Body Works and a small advertising agency as a designer, Bawidamann returned to his initial passion‹pinup.

This time he is not hunkering down in the back of his math class, sketching frantically to avoid the wrath of the nunıs wooden ruler.  Now he is translating his passion for the past into eye-catching works of art. Art that reflects a time when Rosie was riveting, Father knew best, and smoking wasnıt bad for you.

Bawidamann currently resides in Columbus,OH.
